This cosplay was crafted at the suggestion of my friend Ramothhe, who wanted to get a Naruto group together. She thought that Tenten was cute, and I thought the top looked fun and not too hard to make. (Never mind that I think I've seen all of ten episodes of Naruto...) One of her friends made the forehead protector, for far less than they were going for on eBay. Not bad. This cosplay debuted at Otakon 2004, and you can see it's mostly a ghetto cosplay (bought pants at the store, and I don't think that ninjas normally wear Tevas.) My hair is not very long and it's quite fine, so trying to re-create Tenten's odango was extremely difficult! Still, the costume was comfortable, a must in sweltering midsummer Baltimore. |
